Custom Itineraries: This is our signature service. We design fully tailored, multi-stop itineraries from scratch, handling every logistical detail, from flights and private transfers to the right hotels and one-of-a-kind local experiences, along with any accessibility needs. Step 3: The Plan. For hotel and cruise bookings, we move straight to securing your reservation and any VIP perks. For custom itineraries, we begin the detailed research and design phase, putting together a proposal that brings your vision to life.

The honest answer? As soon as possible. In general, prices go up and availability goes down as time passes. But the real answer depends on what kind of trip you're planning.
For Custom Land Trips:
Bucket-list destinations like African safaris or the Galapagos: 12 to 18 months out.
International travel: 6 to 12 months.
Domestic trips: 3 to 6 months.
For Cruising:
Expedition cruises like Antarctica or the Arctic: 12 to 24 months. These ships are small and they fill up fast.
Luxury and river cruises: 9 to 12 months, or longer for popular European routes.
Mainstream ocean cruises: 6 to 9 months for the best cabin selection.

Hotels and Cruises (Complimentary) For hotel and cruise bookings, our compensation comes from the vendor, so it costs you nothing extra. In fact, you come out ahead. We typically match direct rates while unlocking VIP perks you wouldn't get on your own, like room upgrades, daily breakfast, and resort credits at our 4- and 5-star partner properties.
Custom Itineraries (Professional Planning Fee) For fully custom trips, we charge a planning fee of $100 per day of travel (per couple or family). This investment means we work for you, not the vendors. It covers the extensive hours we spend finding the right accommodations, managing complex logistics, and providing real-time support while you travel. The fee includes full itinerary management and access to our travel app, and it's paid after the consultation to begin the research process.

Rate Parity: In almost every case, the rates we access are identical to, and sometimes lower than, what you'd find on the hotel's own website.
The Value Math: Even on the rare occasion our preferred rate is slightly higher (say, compared to a restrictive non-refundable deal), the inclusions tip the scale. When you factor in daily breakfast, room upgrades, and resort credits at our 4- and 5-star partner properties, the total value of your stay is significantly higher than a bare-bones rate found online.

If you have an existing reservation at a 4- or 5-star hotel, it's worth checking whether we can add value to it. We can often take over the booking and unlock perks without changing your rate.
How it Works: Simply forward your confirmation email to judy@tudortravels.com. If the booking is eligible, we become the official agent of record. It costs you nothing, and it often unlocks perks like daily breakfast and resort credits that weren't part of your original reservation.
The Fine Print: We can generally take over direct bookings made with a credit card. We can't access reservations made using loyalty points, credit card rewards, or third-party sites like Expedia.
